Zionism Unsettled now on Kindle!

Zionism Unsettled breaks out into digital arena - now available for Kindle!

October 27, 2015 — Released in January 2014 to immediate critical acclaim, the best seller Zionism Unsettled (ZU) is now available in a Kindle version with full color pictures and hundreds of hyperlinks, taking the reader to different places in the book, endnotes, and sources online.

The Kindle version is also linked to the accompanying video episodes online, which can be downloaded for later viewing. This digital version takes Kindle books to a new level, thanks to the profusion of visual aids and graphics that are included as never before in a Kindle book.

Zionism Unsettled embraces critical issues fearlessly and with inspiring scope. The timely best-seller draws together compelling and diverse viewpoints from Jews, Muslims, and Christians in Israel, Palestine, the US, and around the globe.

ZionismUnseettled_cover_400wPauline Coffman, one of several content editors of the book, explains the framework, “On the one hand, Zionism Unsettled lifts up the tragic history of Jewish persecution that led many Jews to embrace Zionism as a necessity for Jewish self-preservation. At the same time, the book relates the less-well-known and also traumatic history of Palestinian displacement and loss that has occurred as a consequence of the establishment of a Jewish state in their midst.” Coffman continues, “An understanding of both people’s narratives is absolutely essential to understanding the contemporary struggle for rights and land.”

Rev. Walt Davis, another editor, recalls “When ZU was first published in 2014, our hope was to open a space for dialogue and begin talking about some of the issues long considered taboo for conversation. We accomplished that, and those conversations are ongoing. Now with the Kindle version, we hope to reach people at home and around the world who were not able to purchase the print version, as well as reaching Millennials who prefer their books on digital platforms.”

By contrasting mainstream perceptions with important alternative perspectives frequently ignored in the media, Zionism Unsettled is an invaluable guide to deeper understanding of key questions:

  • What role have Zionism and Christian Zionism played in shaping attitudes and driving historical developments in the Middle East and around the world?
  • How do Christians, Jews, and Muslims understand the competing claims to the land of Palestine and Israel?
  • What steps can be taken to bring peace, reconciliation, and justice to the homeland that Palestinians and Israelis share?

A how-to guide for class leaders and focused discussion is included to prompt group study. ZU is an ideal resource for multi-week exploratory education programs in churches, mosques, synagogues, and all secular classroom settings. Print version still sold here.
